Befriend - Scott Sauls Oct. 2-Nov. 13
Is real friendship too risky? We live in a world where real friendship is hard to find. Suspicious of others and insecure about ourselves, we retreat to the safety of our small, self-made digital worlds. Tragically, even the church can become a place that reinforces this isolation. Jesus models a much richer vision of friendship. Pastor and teacher Scott Sauls invites Christians to see the breadth of Christ’s love toward people we often avoid. In this 6-session series, Scott outlines principles for befriending those around us with the love of Jesus.
Yes, it’s true: Real friendship is costly. Love does make us vulnerable. But without risk, our lives will remain impoverished. Learn what it means to be a good friend in an age of judgment, isolation, and fear.
The purpose of Single Life is to fix our eyes on Christ, forgetting the past and moving forward into a relationship with God. Single Life helps participants find wholeness through a relationship with Christ, while developing openness with other singles.
What can you expect when you come to Single Life? It offers various teaching series that apply to single adults. Participants break into small groups to share and apply the truths they are learning. They also hold activities biweekly and community projects once a month, to serve God and build community.
“One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press on toward the mark that God has called me.” — Phil. 3:13-14
