The Bible gives us many names for Jesus. As we approach the celebration of His birth, take time to reflect on just a few of the many Scriptures that tell us His names and reveal to us the magnitude of Who He is and Who He can be in our lives.

"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called *Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.*" - Isaiah 9:6

“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him *Immanuel*”[ (which means “God with us”). - Matthew 1:23

“In the beginning was *the Word*, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” - John 1:1-4

"The *true light** that gives light to everyone was coming into the world."* - John 1:9

"Jesus said to her, 'I am *the resurrection and the life*. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die…'” - John 11:25

"Jesus answered, 'I am *the way and the truth and the life*. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” - John 14:6

“I am *the true vine*, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.” - John 15:1-9

“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and *the bright Morning Star.* - Rev. 22:16

“I am *the Alpha and the Omega*,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” - Rev 1:8
