Jonah finally makes it to Nineveh, the place he’s avoided because the people are evil. Literally evil. Yet, Jonah finally obeys God and tells the people that they are doomed to destruction because of their sinful ways. Jonah checks the box on his duty and checks out. But God has other plans.
